INTENSIVES

INTENSIVES are simply a block of three, four or eight weeks of morning classes. These are "Booking only" and are not open for drop in ( unless invited) They are generally Mysore style on Monday - Thursday and conducted on Sundays and Fridays. Starting altogether in silence these classes include an element of chanting pranayama and philosophy.

COSTS AND DEPOSITS for Intensives

 Cost: intensives with  Dena and Jack  $500 Australian dollars for a 4 week block.   $400 for a 3 week block.

A  NON REFUNDABLE  DEPOSIT of $100 IS NOW REQUIRED TO HOLD YOU PLACE

LOCATION

 11 Black Butt Place just off  Bangalow Rd in Byron Bay.

The shala is a privates residence and not open outside of class time.

Directions: Follow Johnson Street away from the beach heading towards Suffolk Park left at the roundabout it becomes Bangalow rd. BlackButt St is 1km on the right . 

 Please park on Bangalow Road in front of child care ( not GYM ) and walk down Black Butt, last gate on the left No 11.

MYSORE STYLE

 Mysore Style is the traditional method of teaching and learning ashtanga yoga.

Students are guided through self practice with  technical oral instructions  and hands on support and guidance of a teacher.

Progression through the practice occurs at an individual pace.

Postures are added incrementally according to each practitioners ability and readiness.

This readiness considers the mental and emotional aspects as well as the physical capacity.

Students new to Ashtanga and to Mysore style practice are welcome and encouraged to come along.

CONDITION OF WELCOME

This incremental elaboration and extension of practice offers the safest and most sustainable approach.

It allows  the body and the nervous system to integrate this intense and potent  methodology.

It offers the potential for genuine Parinamah ( transformation ) and for healing to occur.

 

In the spirit of Parampara ( teacher student respect and relationship )  those practicing  at the shala are asked to practice  only asana and or pranayama taught directly by or sanctioned personally  by Dena.
